1. Hebbe Falls

Hebbe falls is located close to Chikmagalur, in Kemmangundi. This waterfall is located inside of a coffee estate and can be reached by drive (four-wheeler) or by foot (hike to the falls).

The height of this falls is 551 feet, but it flows down in two stages, which localites call the “dodda hebbe” and chikka hebbe”, meaning big and small falls respectively (also called as the “twin-stage waterfall”.

2. Jhari Falls

This fall is famously called as the “Buttermilk falls” and is located in Chikmagalur district. The waterfall is surrounded by the dense forest, amidst coffee plantations.

The falls also has a pool at the bottom, which is suitable for a dip or a swim, if visitors would like. The access to this waterfall is by jeep (on a chargeable basis), or by trek, on foot.

3. Alekan Falls

At a height of 90 feet, the gush of the Alekan waterfall can be heard from meters away! This beautiful waterfall in Chikmagalur is home to many tourists on a daily basis.

The waterfall is surrounded by vegetation, but stepping into the water is not advisable as the currents are strong. You can reach the falls by drive or by foot.

4. Shankar Falls

The Shankar falls is also located in Chikmagalur and is situated amidst coffee plantations. It is located close to the center of the city of Chikmagalur (24 kilometers away).

This fall is easy to reach from Chikmagalur by four-wheeler or even by local bus.

5. Elaneeru Falls

Elaneeru falls, also called as Yelaneeru falls, got its name because the water has the clear color of tender coconut water.

You will have to deviate from the main road, to reach Elaneeru village, wherein there’s a mud road you will have to drive on (not advisable during rainy season) or trek to the falls, on foot.

6. Hanumangundi Falls

Hanumangundi falls, also called as “Soothanabbe Falls”, stands at a height of 22 meters and is close to the Kudremukh town.

While you will need to walk down 300 steps to get to the falls, you can be rest assured it will be worth every bit of your energy, when you reach the breathtaking falls!
