The place Shanthi Kunnj was brilliant. It was located inside a coffee estate at the banks of river Bhadra. This place was beyond our dreams. Mivaan (my son) thoroughly enjoyed the place. Getting to this place is a little difficult if you do not have your own vehicle. But once you are there you would not want to come out. I really wish we had stayed here for one more day.

Awesome experience staying here. The location is phenomenal, in the middle of a coffee estate and right next to a river. One can listen to the flowing water from the restaurant, and the river facing rooms. They serve some delicious local food and organise a small campfire in the evening. The hosts are amazing and very helpful.

The crew at the venue was awesome. They were very friendly and received us very warmly. We had kids (2.5 years and 9 years) with us, with whom the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious – the spread very local and homely. Must thank Mr. Vincent for being a perfect host and for keeping his team very well groomed and hospitable. At the end of the trip, we came back with very fond and pleasant memories and would want to go back.

All the clichés apply – this is a gem and a jewel. The Bhadra river flows just below the estate, is accessible and maddeningly beautiful. The rooms are huge and have two ensuite bathrooms each – a VERY useful feature. The staff are friendly, polite, and cheerful adding to the pleasant experience. Mr. Vincent makes the checking-in experience a pleasure and is a treasure trove of local knowledge. Young Santosh is a smiling, helpful presence, very well conversant in Kannada and making up for the rest in enthusiasm.
Sunil is the one to thank for the food. It is delicious and organic, though it might appear pricey at first look, it is abundant in both variety and quantity. Situated mid-way between Shringeri and Chikmagalur, the roads are fantastic. Just the last stretch of about a kilometre is a dirt road winding through other estates, but not a problem for an experienced driver. Tip: If you want to avoid crowds go during the week.

Shanthi Kunnj is a wonderful place to wind down. Being just next to the Bhadra River, the place is as described in the photos and in fact has more to offer. The staff are extremely polite and hospitable. Cleanliness and other facilities are up to mark. Looking forward to visiting again with a bigger group.

Shanthi Kunnj is located little away from Chikmagalur. It is a terrific place to stay surrounded by coffee plantation and at the banks of river Bhadra. The rooms were clean and spacious.
